Sherry Thomas: President
“I have been involved in rescue for over 20 years. I have always loved caring for pets. As a teenager in high school, I would play hooky from school just to go volunteer at the local animal shelter.
I have organized adoptions for Cherokee Humane Society for the past 20 years where my team adopted out 300 to 550 dogs. Now I’m starting up Sherry Saving Discarded Dogs (SSDD). SSDD will focus on helping abandoned dogs in North Georgia. These dogs come to me in need of love and medical care, both of which I give.
I have a wonderful husband who supports my rescue obsession. I also have three adult children and six grandchildren that help me out when they can. Without them I could not do this rescue work. I also have four personal dogs of my own that I kept after not being able to place them.
Dr. Howard Ashley
Dr. Ashley is our rescue vet and has been for the past 20 years. “I was raised in the south, and I did my veterinary training at Auburn University. I pride myself on being very down to earth and straight forward. An yes! I even drive a pick up truck - a red one! All Animal Care is in the northwest Georgia farming communities, so our Doctors see a wide variety of animals and pet challenges in day to day work.”
Jen
Jen has trained dogs for many years and has worked with Sherry for 17 years. She is certified in Canine Good Citizen (CGC) and is a handler for therapy dogs and is a Board member.
Reagan Fisch
She has worked with Sherry for 7 years, specializing in a two-week board and train program. She provides a complimentary evaluation and customizes the training package for you and your dog's needs.
Dog House Pet Resort
Has partnered with Sherry for 10 years and provides grooming, puppy play, boarding and training.
